HC2 employs a disciplined investment approach to set up investment opportunities where we believe the potential for reward outweighs the risk implied. We invest across the risk spectrum from opportunistic to core to debt. We place the highest priority on preservation of capital and we prioritize consistency - a batting average - not extreme outperformance and extreme losses. We employ a top down and bottom up approach to investing. Top down macro research drives market and submarket concentration while bottom up analysis drives individual property selection.
HC2 invests in the development, acquisition and repositioning of multifamily, office, senior living, and student housing assets.
HC2 focuses on major Sunbelt markets with an emphasis on the state of Texas.
HC2 targets investments ranging from $2-15 million, but can adjust to each individual opportunity.
HC2 has the ability to acquire assets directly, make joint venture equity investments, preferred equity investments and mezzanine loans.
